STENDRA got the FDA Approval to be marketed as the new drug for Erectile Dysfunction or ED. The announcement has been made just April 2012, and hopes are high that Stendra will be out in the market and be sold in stores come late 2012 or early 2013.
What is Stendra? How Does Stendra Work?
Stendra is a next generation Phosphodiesterase 5 inhibitor or PDE 5 inhibitor . It belongs to the same class as older PDE 5 inhibitor like Viagra, Cialis and Levitra.
The generic name of Stendra is AVANFIL. Viagra has a generic name of Sildenafil, Cialis ‘ generic name is Tadalafil while the generic name of Levitra is Vardenafil.
But unlike its predecessors, STENDRA’s manufacturers VIVUS INC, focuses on the safety feature of the new drug as well as its efficacy to combat the widely popular competitors namely VIAGRA, and provide patients with a more effective drug with lesser side effects.
There are various studies and clinical trials that show Stendra is the more effective and has more safety feature as compared to Viagra, Cialis and Levitra.
One of these Stendra clinical trials used 295 men and most of these patients rated the erectile dysfunction drug as “EXCELLENT” and this study also shows that taking the drug can lead only to minimal incidences of side effects.
Another STENDRA study used 646 male patients with long history of ED. After the study it was found out that STENDRA can achieve significant results on improvement of erectile functions.
Advantages of STENDRA versus Viagra and other ED Drugs
Stendra is the newest drug that belongs to the PDE 5 inhibitors. There are some major advantages of Stendra over older competitors such as:
- Stendra can help you have an erection as fast as 15 minutes. Viagra can take as 30 minutes, while others can take longer.
- Stendra is eleiminated in the body much faster than Viagra. This could lead to lesser side effects like headache and cold like symptoms.
- Stendra has more effective PDE 5 inhibition effect. This means STENDRA is more effective in increasing the blood flow to the male organ and there is a higher possibility of erection on STENDRA versus Viagra, Cialis or Levitra.
