Lorcaserin is one of the many diet pills and weight loss drugs waiting approval from the US FDA or Food and Drug Administration. Lorcaserin is a weight loss drug manufactured by Arena Pharmaceuticals from California.
What is Lorcaserin?
Lorcaserin is being developed by Arena Pharmaceuticals to be the diet pill of the future. Unlike other weight loss drugs, QNEXA and Contrave, that are also awaiting FDA approval, Lorcaserin is a wholly new drug that is not made from the combination of 2 drugs.
Lorcaserin is a selective serotonin 2C receptor agonist. It acts on the area of the brain that is responsible for your appetite and metabolism.
.A study conducted by Arena Pharmaceuticals and was published on the New England Journal of Medicine in July 15, 2010 shows Lorcaserin was effective in helping patients lose 4 kilograms of body weight in one year of treatment.
What are Lorcaserin Side Effects?
The main reason why the weight loss pill Lorcaserin has not yet been approved by the US FDA is because of safety concerns.
Lorcaserin has almost the same generic make up of the now banned diet pill, Phen-Fen. But unlike Phen Fen, Lorcaserin shows great improvement against side effects particularly those related to heart problems.
One positive side of Lorcaserin is that it shows low potential on being abused. Unlike other weight loss drugs like Phentermine, Lorcaserin can be prescribed in the future without complications of patients being addictive to it.
Most frequent adverse events or common side effects for Lorcaserin includes headaches, upper respiratory infection and back pains.
Where can you buy Lorcaserin?
Lorcaserin is still on clinical trial and has no approval yet to be sold or be prescribed for obese patients.
You should avoid online sites selling Lorcaserin and Generic Lorcaserin products for these diet pills may contain harmful chemicals.
Lorcaserin, just like Qnexa and Contrave are still NOT for sale.

Which one of the drugs you list above can a type II dieibic take. I saw names of Lorcaserin, Bluiq, Lorqess. I’m very interesting buying one, but I want to make sure it is safe for a dietibic.
